Dr Mahmoud Mageed Dipl. ECVDI
Mahmoud Mageed earned his Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Medicine in 2007. He worked as an assistant radiologist for 5 years at the University of Leipzig’s equine clinic, where he obtained his Dr. med. vet. degree in 2014. Mahmoud worked as a senior radiologist in a private clinic for nearly a decade, where he was responsible for image acquisition and interpretation, primarily MRI and CT. In 2018, Mahmoud achieved the status of a German board-certified specialist in Diagnostic Imaging. In 2022, he began his ECVDI residency in collaboration with the University of Zurich.
Mahmoud has published more than 20 publications in the field of diagnostic imaging.
Dr. med. vet. Andrea Bischofberger
PhD, Dipl. ACVS & ECVS, Dipl. ECVDI
Dr. Andrea Bischofberger earned her veterinary degree (med. vet.) from the University of Zürich in 2004, followed by her doctorate (Dr. med. vet.) in 2006. She began her clinical career with an internship at the University of Bern, Switzerland, and at Chino Valley Equine Hospital, California, USA. Her dedication to equine surgery led her to complete a residency in equine surgery at the University of Sydney, Australia, from 2008 to 2012. She is board certified in large animal surgery by both the American and the European College of Veterinary Surgeons (ACVS/ECVS).
In 2012, Dr. Bischofberger returned to Switzerland, where she worked as an equine emergency surgeon at the University of Bern for a year before joining the equine hospital at the University of Zürich. Over the next decade (2012-2022), she worked as an equine surgeon at this institution. During this period, she completed her PhD (2014- 2018) on the "Early detection of degeneration of the equine joint cartilage using quantitative MRI techniques" and her Habilitation (2018) on “Experimental investigations and clinical applications of innovative strategies to improve wound healing in horses.”
Dr. Bischofberger is currently a senior clinical lecturer in diagnostic imaging at the Vetsuisse Faculty, University of Zürich, Switzerland. She has been part of this team since 2022. This is also where she pursued her residency training in large animal diagnostic imaging from 2022 to 2025.
Dr. Bischofberger is the owner of EIKONA Imaging, a teleradiology company specialising in large animals, where she interprets images for numerous private clinics and veterinarians.
She is also an extensively published author in the areas of diagnostic imaging and equine surgery. Throughout her career, she has been dedicated to enhancing clinical education and veterinary research, particularly in equine orthopedics and lameness.
Kurt Selberg MS, DVM, DACVR
Kurt Selberg is a North Idaho native, where his family owned a quarter horse ranch. He received his training in diagnostic imaging from Colorado State University and is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Radiologists. Following his residency he completed fellowship in advanced imaging with training from Colorado State University and from Musculoskeletal Radiologists in Fort Collins, CO. Dr. Selberg is a certified member and lecturer at many of the International Society of Equine Locomotor Pathology continuing education events.
He is also an FEI treating veterinarian. He has been on site imaging consultant for the 2018 World Equestrian Games and the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. Aside from radiology, he also enjoys skiing, jiu jitsu, fishing, spending time with good friends and family, his lovely wife Katie and 2 children, and two yellow dogs.
